The fascination of a dog’s nose. It holds something special that human’s don’t have. Did you know the dog’s nose possesses up to 300 million olfactory receptors versus six million that we have as humans. Another known fact is the dog’s brain that is devoted to analyzing smells is about 40 times greater than ours.
Dogs also have something called neophilia, which means they are attracted to new and interesting odors.
A dog’s smell is more advanced than anything we know. It is powerful enough to detect a single drop of liquid in 20 Olympic-size swimming pools. They can also sniff out drugs, bombs, dead bodies and even cancer and other diseases.
